agree の使い方

agree は自動詞または他動詞として使われます。

自動詞として使われる場合は、単独、または、with / to / on などの前置詞と共に使われます。

他動詞として使われる場合は、that 節、to 不定詞、名詞を目的語にとります。

agree with / to / on ~: ～と同じ意見である / に賛成する / に意見が一致する

I hope you agree with me.
（あなたが私に同意してくれるといいのですが。）

I cannot agree to your proposal.
（私はあなたの提案に同意できません。）

They agreed on the agenda for the next meeting.
（彼らは次回の会議の議題について合意した。）

agree (自動詞) + 前置詞（with/to/on) のフレーズです。

人に同意する場合の前置詞は with に限られます。

ex.) agree with 人 (you / her / Taro, etc.)

Most people agree that learning plays a critical role in life.
（ほとんどの人は、学びが人生において重要な役割を果たしていることに同意する。）

Programmers agreed that a new software should be installed immediately.
（プログラマー達は新しいソフトウェアをすぐにインストールする必要があることに同意した。）

この文型では、agree の主語は複数形になるのが普通です。

She agreed to buy her son a smartphone.
（彼女は息子にスマートフォンを買うことに同意した。）

The service will be provided if you agree to pay the fee.
（料金の支払いに同意すればサービスが提供される。）

agree は動名詞を目的語にとりません。

× agree ~ing

・agree with / to / on ~ 「～と同じ意見である、に賛成する、に意見が一致する」

・agree that ~ 「～ということに意見が一致する」

・agree to do ~ 「～することに同意する」
